Brandon Flowers (the killers frontman) sings in his solo track "Crossfire" : " and were caught in the cross fire of heaven and hell and were searching for shelter". His lyric rings true that as humans we are caught in the crossfire between heaven and hell but we have a CHOICE , God gave us a free will : we can choose heaven and come to him or choose the least appealing hell with the devil. When he sings "looking for shelter" god offers us shelter , the bible uses imagery of a mother hen protecting her young under her wing. God calls for us to come to him and he will protect us and give us shelter. Ive learned through song at church that there is only ONE WAY in the crossroad of life and that is heaven , please choose the right way , the way to heaven. The Lord will return one day and he will create a new heaven and earth , make sure your part of it , come to him today.
Hey again another great post, Well done. I have listened to 'Cross Fire' by Brandon Flowers and it is a great song. It's so promising that such a modern and famous artist is signing about christain beliefs and morals. His song tells the story of the battle we have as christians to remember that we will go to Heaven one day if we seek Jesus in all we do. Sometimes we can get caught up in wordly beliefs instead and we forget of the peace that God promises will come when we are called home to Heaven. Modern songs that are played on the radio and that downloaded by the young generation are sending out the wrong message by encouraging the youth of today to have sex, wild parties and to get drunk. These are things that can be enjoyed in moderation but if you get carried away they can be dangeorus pitfalls of the big bad world we live in. I respect Brandon flowers for taking a stand and for signing lyrics that encourage a christian message instead and remind us that the is a cross fire between Heaven and Hell and it can only be stopped if we come to know the Lord.
ReplyDeleteHi again :) thanks for a lovely comment glad you understand the song and its message. I like your point about modern songs and bad messages , the Killers/Brandon Flowers are a cool rock group but they project life matters and issues through their songs and the crossfire between heaven and hell is something significant worth thinking about , we dont need to be caught in the crossfire if we have jesus in our lives :). God bless x
